Pastor’s Corner August 25th, 2022
5This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. 6If we say that we have fellowship with him while we are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do what is true; 7but if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. I John 1:5-7
One of the key elements of the Christian life is fellowship. Fellowship with God and with one another. On Saturday evening August 20th about 30 of us gathered in Bethany Park for a time of food and fellowship. Our Membership Team set up the event and provided beverages for all those attending, It was a beautiful evening and many of the adults visited while the children and youth in attendance amused themselves with games and time on the nearby playground. Some of these photos display the bountiful food provided. We had a great time and enjoyed this opportunity for fellowship in a more casual setting.
Our Membership Team is busy planning additional opportunities for fellowship this fall. More information will be forthcoming about gathering as a group to attend the musical Godspell at the Ta Da Theater on October 16th.
While we make time for fellowship after worship, outside activities provide more time and space to get to know one another. As we deepen our fellowship with one another we also connect with God. So, let’s not underestimate the importance and significance of our time together. Like those in the early Church we continue to be invited to walk in the light and love of the Lord as we come together in God’s name.
In peace and love, Pastor Karen
